I nodded, only half-listening. Fifteen minutes earlier I was lost and frustrated, and here I sat with a gorgeous man about to massage my feet and lower legs while I sipped iced tea. He poured a little warm oil into his palm, rubbed his hands together and stroked them slowly down my legs, and began working my left calf, easing down to my ankle and foot, pressing and rubbing. I rested my head on the back of the chair and closed my eyes, stifling a sigh. It was relaxing, it was comforting, it was soothing, it was, well, arousing. I set the glass on the table next to me so I wouldn't drop it, and noticed the little sign listing other services. I skimmed the various consultations of all kinds--skin care, nutrition, general health assessments--what interested me most were the ones for massage. The massage listed at the bottom was the most expensive.
"What is this last one," I asked, "the stress relief one?"
David worked each of my toes. He looked up, a slightly surprised grin on his face.
"That is the full body treatment, miss."
Much later, during one of the many moments I spent reflecting on that afternoon, I realized that he had placed an emphasis on the word full.
