eBook Description: Punks have muscled into the once-quiet neighborhood around Burgess Street Park, terrorizing the old folk. They beat up poor Mr. Lee, the grocer. And they play their damn hippie music too loud. The police can only do so much; punks overwhelm the city. Who you gonna call? Why, the Geezers, of course.

Across the street from Mrs. Lena Bartlett's apartment, in the cozy little park where she took her twice-daily walk with her Pekingese, Cato, four teenaged punks were beating the shit out of Mr. Lee, the grocer.
Lena called the police right away, of course, when she heard the awful music from the teenagers' truck. Then she looked out the window.
Immediately, she wished she'd called The Geezers instead.
It was just after ten p.m., a warm August night, and the streets were empty enough to afford Lena an unobstructed view, through her barely parted lace curtains, of the mugging in the park not far away. The imitation gas lamps that flanked the walkway through the center of the park illuminated the old Oriental lying curled in a ball, being kicked by the punks.
Lena had good eyesight, considering her age. She saw a large boy who looked like he wore a porcupine on his head. One emaciated kid wore a tattered black t-shirt over his bony chest. Another kid was medium build, with a large scruffy beard and puffy biceps covered with tattoos. The fourth was a rather pretty black girl with lots of frizzy hair and a skirt so short Lena blushed. Except for the girl, all wore jeans and boots.
All took turns kicking their victim.
