"You sure you want to do this?" The question came as quite a shock to her. He'd cheated on her with his secretary and expected everything to be okay? Silence hung in the air, thick and warm. Jennifer fanned herself with her court notice and willed the elevator to move faster. She groaned when it slowed to a stop around the seventh floor. "Guess we're stuck," Jonathan said with a sigh. He set his briefcase down and shrugged off his jacket. Stuck? With him. It might have been appealing at one time, but not anymore. At least that's what her head said. Her heart told her something completely different.
