He appeared now at the top of her driveway, holding the bread and cheese and two cans of vegetables that she'd dropped near her car. Olivia glanced nervously around for his demon dog.

"Here," Jack said, handing over the items, which Olivia plopped back into the grocery bags behind her.

"Thank you." She squinted up at him. "I didn't know you wore glasses." The glasses somehow made him even sexier--in a studious sort of way.

"Ah, I just came from the office," he said with a shrug, then took off his glasses.

"You work on Saturdays?"

He gave a sheepish chuckle. "Rarely, unless on Friday afternoon I've accidentally spilled coffee all over my weekly reports."

Yeah, that sounded about right, Olivia thought, but found herself smiling. At least it wasn't only her he traumatized.

Fearful of remaining in his company any longer than necessary, she waved a hand nervously. "Thank you for picking those up. I have to run, I've got to make my dessert for the auction tonight."

"Oh, right. Here, let me get those." He reached for the bags.

She imagined it might seem rude to give a frantic shout of "No!" when he only wished to help her, so she let him pick up the bags while she opened her front door. Jack followed her to the kitchen at the back of the house. He set the bags down on the table and glanced around. "Nice. Wow, you've got great style."

"Thank you," she said, thinking he referred to her decorating sense, then she realized where his attention was. Olivia actually groaned out loud. A basket of folded clothes sat on the edge of the counter and on the very top of the pile were her colorful thongs, and lacy bras and--dear Lord! There was her favorite thong, the one with the chain and heart pendant that said 'kiss me' across the front. She closed her eyes while great embarrassment swept through her.

Nice," he chuckled, but pretended now that he was talking about her kitchen décor and not her unmentionables. He cleared his throat as if to stop more laughter. "All right then, I'll let you get to your baking."

Quite positive that her face was as red as the panties she presently wore, Olivia happily showed the man the front door.
