Ashara gathered the laran energy from Hali Circle and burst into the Overworld in a blaze of shimmering blue fire. Gashes of lurid red and black cut through the usually featureless gray landscape. Hills and crevices of blood-soaked dust surrounded her. To one side, Comyn Tower in Thendara writhed and shrieked as if it were a living thing. Inside, its defenders flared and died like embers. Their screams echoed through her mind.
