Detective Vincent Gallo looked over the man the Coast Guard had just handed over. The guy was short and built like a tank. From the way he moved Vincent knew the guy could handle himself. They ran his license and came up with a federal flag and a number to call. The officer who made the call had delivered a very simple message. Leave the guy alone. Vincent wasn't a leave him alone kind of guy.
"So exactly what happened out there?" Vincent asked Ray.
"Apparently gunfire and explosions. There may have been some screaming, but I can't be sure. Screaming is hard to hear over gunfire," said Ray.
"You think this is some kind of joke?"
"No but I know a few good ones. Knock, Knock."
"It's clear you don't understand how serious this is."
"Oh, I understand. I'm just trying not to get too excited about it, too much excitement is bad for my blood pressure," said Ray.
"Look, this can go down one of two ways, you can give me answers now, or I can get them out the hard way."
"Wait a second, you're telling me cops actually say that? I mean I've seen it in the movies, but in person I gotta say, it's cheesy."
"You smug piece of shit. What happened on that boat?"
