"Besides being funny and completing their mission, there is an underlying theme of Christian unity between the two teenage angels. Happy reading!"--Eva Marie Osier, Retired Reading Teacher

Powder blue fluff faded into lavender wisps as delicate puffs of the palest pink, yellow and green haze filled the air. As the rainbow of colors dissipated, two angels appeared. "Angel Randall," God greeted. "I trust thou art finding comfort in the set of wings thou hast earned?" "Yes, Father. Thank you. I'm still amazed that I find wings are like having extra extremities. They not only assist my body movements, but can do things my arms and legs aren't and never were capable of doing. Here in heaven, one uses these wing functions without giving second thought that they are connected to the rest of our heavenly bodies," Randy stated in a light-hearted manner. "And thou finds amusement in such functions?" "Indeed not, Father. My humor comes from remembering how many times I did a nose dive before learning to fly." God smiled. "I understand thou art comparing the process as to when thee learned to walk as a mortal infant." "Yes, I am. As a mortal, I was led to believe that all angels automatically knew how to fly." "In this eternal life, Angel Randall, thou will learn many treasures of knowledge. Earning wings and learning to use them are mere baby steps before learning to run." Scratching his head in confusion, Randy asked, "But with wings, why would I have need to run?" God shook His head. "I can see our senior angels still have a lot of work to do with thee as their pupil. I was speaking figuratively, Angel Randall. Doest thou know the meaning of the word?" "Huh? Oh, I get it. You just meant that as a new angel I still have a lot to learn. And, learning to use my wings is just the beginning. Am I right?" "The heavens prevail. It seems thou art able to use intelligence when called upon to do so." "I know I'm still a bit slow in the head. But I'm trying."
