She spun around, and a tiny piece of paper fell to the floor. She bent and picked up the sliver and read the words in red ink: Learn the hard way and it hurts for a month. Learn the easy way, and it doesn't hurt. She tossed the paper in the trash and glanced at her watch. "Damn it, Crystal," she said with disgust. She stood up and walked out of her room, down the hall and out the front door where a young man in a red corvette awaited her. She opened the car door and slid into the leather seat of luxury, smug as hell. He wanted her, and she knew it. Green eyes roved over her with desire. They drove down the street and turned onto the highway. When he picked up the speed, she slid her hands over her thighs, exposed below her short skirt, and she flexed her feet. He exhaled sharply, and she grinned knowingly. He's rich enough, she thought.
