eBook Description: The only thing worse than being a werewolf who can't Change is being the leader of the pack. Someone put a curse on Derek, and he has to find a way to fix it before the rest of his pack finds out he's disabled--in a manner of speaking. Liz Hastings is the perfect choice to help him find a solution: she's a witch, and she doesn't know he's not an aspiring author researching a horror novel. Liz struggles against her attraction for the good-looking if somewhat oddball guy who's obsessed with werewolves. She doesn't trust anybody, least of all herself, and there's something not quite right with this alleged writer. Still, he's fun to be with and he's given her a challenge, and that's something she just can't pass up. The truth, she soon discovers, is even more bizarre than she'd imagined.

He backed out of her building, slipped on the stairs and fell. It was too much. Tonight was just too much. "Liz!" he bellowed. "Open the fucking door!" No response. No buzzer. "Liz!" He leaned against the building, forehead pressed against cool brick, and punched the wall. It hurt like hell. She'll open the door. She has to. Or ... or maybe I should go away, and tomorrow I'll apologize. I'm drunk, she can't hold anything I said against me... He almost had himself convinced. At least, it seemed to be a better plan than breaking into the building, running upstairs and kicking in her door in an effort to explain himself. Somehow, he just didn't think she'd appreciate that. Something red splattered the stone wall. He had a brief moment of confusion, and then the pain hit and the sound registered. His legs buckled and he clutched his abdomen, blood leaking out between his fingers. And the pain ... the pain was unbelievable.
