Snow lay awake with him spooning her perfectly, just the way she liked. She hadn't been held for so long that the rhythmic sound of his breathing calmed her. She yawned and pressed herself against his hot body, quietly contemplating just what she should do now. Dimitri had sold her on, given her to his twisted brother to be used in god only knows what way. She was trapped no matter what she decided to do. If she ran, they'd hunt her down and force her to go. And if she went ... well, then she'd be stuck with Casha.
Then there was the case of the unbelievably sexy incubus lying next to her. The idea of just giving him the slip did nothing for her at all. For some inconceivable reason, she was content to just talk to him. He made her feel calm, which was something she'd never really felt before with a male. Then there was the way he'd made her feel last night, special and amazing. She was loath to run away from him without fully exploring what he was capable of, even if the thought of him hunting her down was so tantalizing.
Deciding not to decide anything until she'd at least fully showered and brushed her teeth, she reluctantly slipped out of the bed and made her way to the bathroom to shower and clean herself up. She returned sometime later, both her body and her wet hair wrapped in fluffy short towels.
Arcady was well and awake, sitting up, the sheet barely covering his waist as he smirked at her. "Showering without me?"
She grinned and shrugged. "I didn't know I wasn't allowed to shower myself. Besides, you looked so peaceful snoring away."
He laughed. "I don't snore. And my peace was interrupted when you left the bed, Cupcake. I would have loved to wash your back."
"Well, I did leave the door open. You were more than welcome to try your luck."
"I don't go where I'm not invited." He smirked and touched her thigh, trailing his fingers under her towel.
Well, you're more than welcome to go anywhere you want with me, Button. She leaned into his touch and smirked. "Your shoulder still smarting you, Button?"
He shrugged. "I'll be fine, and I think I'll be enjoying this scar for a long, long time."
She skeptically raised an eyebrow. "Enjoying it?"
"Darlin, how many guys out there can say that they got pegged by an ice shard from a beautiful Glacies? Not many I gather."
She frowned mentally counting. "Ummm ... and lived?"
He smiled at her. She was truly a treat, so innocent and brutal at the same time, a paradox, her countenance and response in complete parallel. "Darlin, you are beyond amazing. So, we have some time. What shall we do?"
"I'm not sure. I can't seem to think so well with your hand up my towel." She giggled. "Unless that was your evil plan all along..."
He grinned and licked his lips. "It might have been." He removed his hand and sat up, the sheet falling farther down as he was unaffected by his complete nakedness.
She smirked at him, letting her heated gaze travel up his body well and truly appreciating the view.
"I have no clothes." She glanced to the pile she'd worn yesterday. "Well, clean ones, anyway."
He smiled. "Then I think we need to do a bit of shopping, don't you?"
Her face lit up, "Yeah, that could work. Or we can swing by my place and pick up my stuff ... it's already packed."
"Well, we could do that as well, although I think I shall enjoy shopping with you, if it should please you, Snow."
"Okay, but I'll warn you, I'm ridiculously expensive."
He leaned in and kissed her, sucking her bottom lip into his mouth. "Good, then you and I have something in common."
Her body melted into him, and she groaned into his mouth. "Um, well that's always good to know, Button." She kissed him again, her towel slipping down to expose the tops of her pert breasts.
He groaned and shook his head. "One or the other, Snow, shopping and spending tons of my money, or fucking till dawn, cuz I assure you, Cupcake, we start this now, you're not leaving this bed."
She tore her gaze and body away from him with all the willpower she possessed. "While writhing on top of that hard well muscled body of yours for most of the day and night does hold its attraction ... I'll still need clothes come dawn. Plus, I'll need to get my stuff out of the flat before Dimitri gives it to his next pet." She fixed the position of her towel and turned her back to him, blinking back her tears.
Arcady looked at her back and sighed. "If it's any consolation, Casha demanded you. Dimitri didn't give you up willingly. You know the demon, he has his agendas, and apparently, both you and I fit into them. So, do we make the best of what we got going on here? Or do we not?"
