The softness of his goodnight kiss still lingered on her lips, the one they shared before she went to the spare bedroom and he to the den where Gloria had made his bed. Cassie had just nestled beneath the covers, still enjoying the long dead butterflies Evan brought to life when the bedroom door slowly opened. He tiptoed in and crawled into bed beside her.
