I live in the outskirts of a busy town. Urban sprawl leaked its way into my home, leaving everything cemented and incorporated. The only exception to this is found far behind my old high school.

I have come past the exit door, crossed three roads and am now at Strawberry Hill. The air is sweet and the scenery is sweeter. Little yellow flowers tell of the juicy strawberries which are soon to come.

I close my eyes and take a deep breath, letting all my senses live, begging each one to savor the moment. Calm, peaceful, forgiving, I think of days past, when I used to come up here with my mother and father. I could play for hours. I wonder if I still have that in me.

A child giggles.

I open my eyes.

"You're pretty," the brown haired, blue eyed child tells me shyly.

I gasp. The child looks so much like me.

"I'm Aurora," the girl says casually as she begins to skip through the grasses.

I gasp for the second time. That wasn't just a child. That was me fifteen years ago.

"Stop!" I call to myself.

Young Aurora won't yield to my call. She continues on, skipping as if she has all the time in the world.

I chase after myself, looking for answers. I don't know what the question is. I just know that we need to talk. Maybe she, I mean I, could tell me what was going on.
