eBook Category: Classic Literature/Mystery/Crime
eBook Description: A classic locked room mystery. Holmes and Watson are attending a ball in their honor in Paris when Holmes is approached by the world-famous violinist M. Draenko. Draenko is being blackmailed by one of the showgirls at Maxim's and requests Holmes aid in ending this problem. The next morning when Holmes and Watson arrive at M. Draenko's hotel to inform him that they have taken care of the issue, they find Draenko dead and a scene that has obviously been arranged to appear as a suicide. The only entrance to Draenko's fourth floor room has been under observation for hours by a workman and no one was seen to enter or leave the room. The workman could hear a violin being played, stopping only an hour before Holmes' arrival. And Watson fixes the time of death as less than an hour before their arrival. No one could have entered the room, but Holmes is certain that someone did!
